We are Be The Fox, a multi award-winning creative and production agency. We create content that earns attention, builds trust and drives business results for clients including Bulldog Skincare, Brighton & Hove Albion and Samsung. We’re nimble, ambitious, and passionate about craft — delivering everything from social content to global campaigns.
We’re growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Head of Production to join our senior team. This is a pivotal role: you’ll lead production and client delivery, provide creative continuity, and free up the co-founders to focus on growing the business.
The Role
As our Head of Production you will:
Oversee the Production Studio. Have responsibility for the studio’s project schedule, budgets and project staffing.
Be the Senior Production lead on all projects – from first conversations through to delivery – ensuring work is strategically smart, creatively excellent, and brilliantly produced. Working into the Co-Founders and with the Senior Account Manager to ensure the clients’ projects are delivered to high standards.
Line manage, mentor and support the production team (with the potential to hire and grow junior producers). Be the first port of call for our production team with their production challenges, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment, resolving challenges and maintaining high morale and team spirit. Ensure projects stay on time, budget and to SOW. Hold 1-2-1s with junior team members. Point of contract for days off including sick, lieu and holiday requests for the production team.
Responsible for new production team onboarding including creation of KPIs and their 30-60-90 day plan.
Build and manage our roster of freelance talent across production, creative and post, checking availability in lead up to projects to ensure we can kick-start projects quickly.
Report into co-founders summarising project SOP, studio SOP and measuring and reporting production team KPIs.
Oversight of production legals such as risk assessments and other aspects of safety, supplier/freelance contracts, SOW, service agreements, escalating where necessary.
Work with the New Business team to generate new business and manage flow through the pipeline through to greenlight.
Client contact. May be required to be primary client contact on projects, which, as well as excellent professionalism and communication, would require meticulous amends and request tracking.
Step into a hands-on senior producer role when needed, but primarily manage and direct internal producers and freelancers.
Working with creative directors and co-founders, on ensuring continuity of the creative vision across pre, production and post.
Balance client objectives, creative ambition and production practicalities, guiding teams and clients towards the best outcomes.
Maintain and raise Be The Fox’s values and high standards and across all output. As part of this, QCing all deliverables.
Be a diversity champion to ensure Be The Fox’s values of diversity and representation both behind and in front of the lens is faithfully adhered to.
This is a full-time role, with a requirement for attending long shoot days, which may be global and require periods of travel and weekend work.
This is a full-time position with a requirement to work in person at our central Brighton office.
About You
You’ll be someone who thrives on both the big picture and the detail. You can oversee multiple projects at once, inspire confidence in clients, and spot creative opportunities, while keeping delivery smooth and profitable. An upbeat and positive attitude. We’re looking for:
Proven experience as a Senior or Head of Production (or equivalent leadership role) within a creative agency or brand content production company with at least 10 years experience within the industry.
Strong client-facing skills – you’re as comfortable in the boardroom as you are on set or in an edit suite.
A sharp creative sensibility – especially in post-production – with the ability to help shape ideas and maintain high creative standards.
Strong commercial skills – budget management, forecasting, negotiation and profitability.
Must have proven experience of bringing in new business to creative and production agencies through existing contacts and outreach strategy.
Use of agency software for budgeting, project management, scheduling and resourcing.
Experience in team leadership – mentoring, resourcing and managing staff and freelancers.
Must have experience of TVC, 360 creative campaigns, brand films and social-first campaigns.
Worked with high-level talent.
Must have experience of clearing TV commercials through Clearcast. Nice to have: Cinema clearance experience and clearing ads for release in other countries.
You need to be meticulous, professional and trustworthy. Collaborative in approach, you are generous in your listening, taking onboard people’s input for improvement to the processes and culture of the department and implementing where appropriate with acknowledgement and respect.
Proven track record of delivering complex projects at speed to a high level.
A love for collaboration and the ability to work in a nimble, entrepreneurial agency where rolling up your sleeves is sometimes required.
