How we boosted brand love while ensuring our ad didn’t feel like just another product pusher.

The brief

PAW Patrol isn’t just a TV show, it’s part of childhood itself. From boosting confidence to sparking imagination, PAW’s "to the rescue" spirit mirrors the emotional milestones kids experience every day.

Kids Industries asked us to bring this idea to life through a heart warming PAW Patrol TV Commercial that parents and carers could see themselves, and their little ones, in. The goal? To boost brand love while ensuring it didn’t feel like just another product ad.

Our brief:

  • Celebrate the everyday "little big" moments of childhood

  • Weave PAW Patrol’s "always there" ethos naturally into the story

  • Charm both parents and children, aged 3–7

And we had just 30 seconds to do it. No pressure.

The Concept

We crafted a tender story of a young boy gearing up for the classic childhood adventure: a new playdate. Nerves, excitement, friendship all wrapped into a single, beautifully emotional narrative, with PAW Patrol gently guiding the way.

Each second mattered. Every smile, every look, every rescue dog cameo had to hit the emotional sweet spot without feeling staged or salesy. The creative was designed to feel like a true memory. Not an ad.

Deliverables

Production

We want to highlight the emotional journey of our cast from uncertainty to friendship to confidence and joy. To achieve this, there were a few things we did to coax the best performances for our PAW Patrol TV Commercial.

They joined us on a Zoom call where they met each other, and we all talked about the plans for the shoot. This helped answer any questions and made sure that they came to set already feeling familiar and confident with each other, us and the plans for the day. It also helped to build the chemistry between them.

On the shoot day we all played together with the Paw Patrol products to get used to them. By the time we started rolling the cameras, their play felt more natural and organic. To help further, we chose a camera / lens approach that allowed us to keep a distance, allowing the kids to enter into their own world of play a little easier.

Even though we filmed in the grey chill of a UK winter, the footage needed to feel universally "sunny and timeless" for worldwide use. Clever lighting, summer wardrobe, and a whole lot of set magic made this a reality.
